CLA participates in the BEST Robotics program. This program started at CLA in 2014. BEST Robotics is a middle and high school robotics competition whose mission is to engage and excite students about engineering, science, and technology as well as inspire them to pursue careers in these fields. CLA students in grades 7-12th grade are able to participate in the program.
Through participation in our project-based STEM program, students learn to analyze
and solve problems utilizing the Engineering Design Process, which
helps them develop technological literacy skills. Students also learn public speaking and networking with executives in various local companies. It is these skills that industry seeks in its workforce.
This past year, the Robotics team placed 4th overall at the local hub at Grove City College. This standing qualified the team to compete at the regional competition in Fargo, ND for the third year in a row. While in Fargo, the CLA team persevered through all aspects of the competition and placed 10th overall against 32 other schools across the nation. The CLA team was a blessing as Christ shone through each of the members during the ups and downs of the competition. They are a true model servants for God’s kingdom.
